My brave new world

Submitted by Jennifer Fisher

Hello, everybody! I have been away from here for several months, eager to return and leave my mark on the planet in a whole new way. Although I have been counseling and coaching others for almost twenty years, my heart truly wants to let go of so much talking in sessions and reach out to others in more practical ways. A series of physical and financial challenges and personal losses over the last couple of years has led me to exploring how I could become a significant supporter for those in need of meeting their basic needs as well as connecting others to more long-term resources such as healthcare and education for starters. It seems I have broken the record on “returning to the drawing board” with several office relocations (now happily from home, isn’t that funny?) and a clinical caseload that has been resilient but quite frankly, restructured more times than a rubiks cube in an effort to understand what my heart really wanted all along. I find myself letting go of a career and totally inspired by a woman who came up to me over two years ago at a taco bell drive thru cautiously asking if I knew of any open foodbanks at 10pm. No, I sure don’t, I thought. I did know what it was like to wrap a batch of quarters and then have to decide if it was for the milk and bread or the water bill. She asked for a couple bucks so she could go into the save-a-lot just behind us. I handed her a 5, and seeing her come out with 3 bags of food on my $5 was a defining moment for me. I tend to think so big than get overwhelmed with how much I want to help that I freeze up and don’t know where to start. That moment, however, helped me finally understand what it meant to give from what we have first, and that it truly doesn’t have to be much to make a huge impact on someone’s life. Thank God for that because my heart has always been much bigger than my wallet, regardless of all of the Laws of Attraction books, tapes or workshops that in my opinion send a heart-breaking message at times that everyone is meant to be wealthy in tangible form. That is a blog post in and of itself. This one is my way of saying to the world that I most definitely see and hear those who just geneuinely need for an opportunity to just come knocking and life give them a %$#! break (excuse my symbols). If you revisit another rubiks cube known as my site as well as www.adifferentrhythm.blogspot.com, I hope the message of genuinely trying to support each other without judgement shines through more with each click of the mouse. Mastering online marketing seems so much more efficient for me than mingling at all those networking meetings.(I hated those. Sorry). I am on a borrowed laptop as we speak with a windows 98 dinosaur doing what it can (not much lol), but finally feeling inspired. Any support and especially suggestions on structuring my site would be greatly appreciated. Everything up so far has been a learn as I go version due to limited funds of my own. Send good vibes and thanks for listening!

Twenty Minutes with the President

Reported by Charlie Sheen
Prison Planet.com
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with our 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, while he was out promoting his health care reform initiative. I requested 30 minutes given the scope and detail of my inquiry; they said I could have 20. Twenty minutes, 1200 seconds, not a lot of time to question the President about one of the most important events in our nation’s history. The following is a transcript of our remarkable discussion.

Charlie Sheen – Good afternoon Mr. President, thank you so much for taking time out of your demanding schedule.
President Barack Obama – My pleasure, the content of your request seemed like something I should carve out a few minutes for.
CS – I should point out that I voted for you, as your promises of hope and change, transparency and accountability, as well as putting government back into the hands of the American people, struck an emotional chord in me that I hadn’t felt in quite some time, perhaps ever.
PBO – And I appreciate that Charlie. Big fan of the show, by the way.
CS – Sir, I can’t imagine when you might find the time to actually watch my show given the measure of what you inherited.
PBO – I have it Tivo’d on Air Force One. Nice break from the traveling press corps. (He glances at his watch) not to be abrupt or to rush you, but you have 19 minutes left.

How to make a difference; I mean really, HOW!

By Joe Ball

I have seen much research into what is wrong with society, government and the world, all seemingly out of proportion to the successes being researched and known. Even when the successful actions are made known, the actual results are not promoted quite enough.

Making the successes known is the ultimate secret weapon. It is so unbelievably destructive to the titanium coated fear blanket that encapsulates and impedes progress.

So here is how, I mean really, how: Make successes known.

Here is a list I came up with off the top of my head. (and not really giving a crap how it’s written or sounds)

Pr & The World

Submitted by Joe

Pr is a term that I wasn’t born knowing. I don’t know why. Perhaps it was because my mom didn’t use the term while I was coming out feet first.

As I started to get a feel for this term, associated thoughts of media, lies, and business suits came to mind. ‘Public relations’ is what pr stands for. And though I am not an expert in the field, at least I can form an opinion and pr it.

Wait, is it a verb too? Well yes, I just used it as a verb. It’s the action of using pr technology.

Pr can be used to convince mom that the egg plant cookies were, in fact, eaten and enjoyed none the less. Mom smiles while the exterior plants whither.

Government has become very adept at using pr in this limited fashion. Imagine: the larger part of the world could actually be led to believe that a war on terror is taking place, when an entirely different war is going down.

Do not confuse deceit with pr. Deceit is a highly limited tool and has many boobie traps. If you see pr for what it really is, then you’ll see that deceit need not be included.

So what is pr really about? That’s a question that I have a great definition for; just not with me at the moment. Here’s my opinion about pr though: Continue reading Pr & The World

Inspiration that Motivates

This is an author’s post by Joe Ball:

Causing things is great! I know that is a broad statement and it’s intended to be. Causing things is something we all have in common because we all do it.

Being the effect has its upsides too!  My favorite thing when it comes to being an effect is not the taste of an intensely juicy orange, or the thrill of jumping from a plane with a parachute on my back- it’s being inspired, inspired by individuals that make a difference.

There have been times I have given and given and given. It’s in my nature. An imbalance occurred when it seemed like the giving was only one way. In truth, I know there are many people that have desires and take action to make a difference. Well, I want to make those desires and actions known.

I know I’m not the only one that finds inspiration to be of incredible value.

A friend of mine, Carl Watts, started promoting 3 short youtube videos. He called this campaign, ’save the world’ and promoted it on his website. I got a pretty good idea of where he was going with this campaign before I even watched a video. Instantly a new website expanding on the concept popped into my head, and I stayed up all night making it. See, causing things is great; it makes you stay up past your bedtime.

I did end up watching the videos, and after I sobbed for a couple minutes I decided I would invite you to sign up on the site. That’s now.

You will be doing me a great favor and potentially many others by taking a moment to do so. First check out the site, and then help me tap into the power of inspiration.

On the sign up page you have the option of subscribing to the newsletter, which will share highlights on what others are doing to make a difference. Also we’ll keep you informed on other updates like new site features that have yet to get developed.

If you find any of this interesting or helpful please forward this letter or the link. If you have ideas or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I am very interested in creating the most optimum place for inspiring others into action- (it’s something others have done for me and I am now paying forward)
